As part of our Project Week 17 a team of students spent a week at Nissan enjoying the interplay of science, technology, engineering and maths. In a fun and exciting learning environment and they developed an informed view about careers in engineering, Formula One, science, marketing and technology.
Each team designed their individual cars using CAD/CAM software and manufactured them using a 3D printer, students then raced the miniature compressed air powered F1 cars on a race track.
All team members agreed that the week provided them with an opportunity to be challenged and inspired. They used IT to learn about physics, aerodynamics, design, manufacture, branding, graphics, sponsorship, marketing, leadership/teamwork, media skills and financial strategy, and applied them in a practical, imaginative, competitive and exciting way.
They also enjoyed an exclusive guided tour of Nissan factory to witness the complete production line of the Nissan and Infinity car range.
